LCM Sunday: Connecting with Community

On March 23rd and March 30 LCM-TC held its 9th annual LCM Sunday in 18 metro area congregations. Student preachers worked with Barbara Lundblad, renowned preacher and former LCM board member, to develop their sermons. We are grateful to give students the opportunity to explore preaching while connecting with the wider church and sharing the LCM story. It’s also a nice way for high schoolers to get an inside look into our ministry and consider joining our community when they arrive in college.

Welcome New Students!

As I start my third year at the University of Minnesota, I remember my first semester on campus. The advice I got from everyone I knew who had already gone to college was to “join as many student groups as you can!” I was told it was a great way to make friends, which aside from handling my classes, was one of my biggest concerns about going to college.

Reflections from the Interfaith Shabbat

A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend an interfaith service and dinner with the Jewish student group on campus called MN Hillel. This is an annual event hosted by Hillel in which they invite students from Christian groups across campus to come learn about them and their practices, and share a meal and service together to build inter-campus community among faith groups who may not normally interact.
