Thanksgiving Meal Packing
Join in packing for the Thanksgiving food distribution at Community Emergency Service on Fri., Nov. 22 from 3:30-5:30pm. The work will involve setting up tables, packing bags of food, putting up signs, etc., so folks in the neighborhood can enjoy a feast on Thanksgiving Day. The bags will be delivered to homes the following day. Contact Melodee or James to RSVP or with questions!

This upcoming Friday, from 1:30-4pm, a group of us will be going to the Ronald McDonald House on Oak Street to help with some organizing/sorting/cleaning they need done.

Service Opportunity: Calvary Food Shelf near GFS
Join a small group of LCM'ers as we go out to serve the community near 38th + Chicago! We'll be serving at the Calvary Lutheran Food Shelf, near George Floyd Square, which serves over a hundred families each week. In the sign-up, please include if you have a car and can help drive others and if you speak any Spanish!

Service Opportunity: Tie Blanket Making
We'll gather the first Friday in April to make tie blankets and then we'll donate the finished blankets to Lutheran Social Services. Making these blankets is super simple so even if you haven't done it before or you don't consider yourself crafty, this event is still for you! RSVP here!

Service Opportunity: Food Prep at Shobi’s Table
Sat., Sept. 24 @ 3:30pm | We'll carpool together to Shobi's Table in St. Paul! | RSVP here! Our first service opportunity of the semester! Shobi's Table is a pay-as-you-can food truck that serves delicious + homemade lunches to all in St. Paul. We'll be helping them food prep and get ready for the coming week. We need to let them know how many people we're bringing so RSVP to let us know you're coming!

LCM Spring Break: Alternative Spring Break in New Orleans – Sign up Deadline!
Sign up by January 20! This spring break, journey with us down south to the lively and historic city of New Orleans to serve, learn, play, and grow together in community! We'll be leaning into the racial justice + liberation work + history happening in the city, and learning how faith communities in New Orleans are active in these justice movements. Our time together will roughly be split between serving, active learning and reflection, and enjoying the great music, food, and cultural scene in NOLA!

Be Fed: Soup Cooking Class
Deacon Kari from Shobi's Table will be coming to lead a cooking class with us and teach us how to make delicious, affordable, homemade soup! All the soup we make together will be frozen and used at Be Fed in the following weeks. Of course, we'll get to try some too!
